Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Ledgerplot (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Ledgerplot. By using the Service you confirm you meet this requirement.

2. What Ledgerplot is — and isn't

Ledgerplot is a personal finance organizer. It is not a bank, broker, lender, payment processor, tax preparer, or licensed financial advisor. We don't move money and we don't have access to your bank accounts.

3. Not financial advice

Everything in the Service — including dashboards, budgets, charts, and anything Penny (our AI assistant) tells you — is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Penny can be wrong. Numbers it produces are best-effort summaries of your own uploaded data, not a substitute for professional guidance. Before making any financial decision, consult a qualified professional licensed in your jurisdiction.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Acceptable use

• Don't scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
• Don't upload statements or receipts that belong to someone else unless you have their permission.
• Don't upload illegal content or use the Service for illegal purposes.
• Don't use the Service to harass, harm, or impersonate others.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Your content and the license you grant us

You keep ownership of the statements, receipts, and other content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant Ledgerplot a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, parse, and process Your Content solely to provide the Service to you — including categorizing transactions, displaying insights, and powering Penny's responses to you. We don't use Your Content to train third-party AI models.

7. Service availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We try to avoid breaking things, but we don't promise uninterrupted availability.

8. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that categorizations, totals, or any AI output are correct or complete.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ledgerplot and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Ledgerplot against any claims arising from content you upload, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & data. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk for us or other users.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ledgerplot is operated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Ledgerplot regarding the Service.
